Casa Mariol, Samso Crianza 2019

Casa Mariol is a third generation family winery, founded in 1945. It is situated in Batea, Terra Alta, a small region tucked away in the south of Catalonia. The dry Mediterranean climate, calcareous soils and combination of two prevailing winds, the dry north (El Cierzo) and damp southeast (El Garbí), provide optimal conditions for growing grapes and producing amazing wine. Samso Crianza 2019 is made from 100% Cariñena (Carignan) and aged for 12-months in oak. An intense nose of blueberry, blackcurrant and violet leads to a medium-body and bright acidity on the palate, with further notes of prune, toast and cocoa. A great wine to pair with charcuterie or grilled meats.
